The fast track to mastering
whitewater SUP on the Nile.
Whitewater SUP is the most light-hearted and entertaining way to find yourself amongst some of the biggest rapids in the world. The only expectation is that you will have fun, you can challenge yourself to stand up through the rapids with full knowledge that swimming is almost guaranteed.
Not for the faint of heart, but for those looking for some easy excitement. You can be one of only a handful of people to have taken on the Nile armed with a stand up paddleboard.
Our experienced guides will teach you how to tackle these rapids, keep you safe and make sure you have a grin from ear to ear at the end of the trip.

Starting just below the Bujagali dam, we put onto the water to spend some time learning how to control the boards and give you a full briefing of what to do if you fall off in the rapids. There are normally a few falls at this early stage but it is all good practice.
As we move down the river you’ll get a view of the crests of the first rapid, question your sanity and carry on. The biggest of the whitewater sections, this rapid called ‘Jaws’ is a daunting
challenge. Quick reactions and superior balance will get you past the first rolling waves, through the diagonals and maybe even over the rising and crashing waves arriving triumphant at the
bottom of the rapid.
If you don’t get that far (don’t worry, most people don’t), then you’ll be treated instead to some interesting swimming. The rapid is deep with no rocks in the main flow so actually makes for some fun rather than anything dangerous. Collected together at the bottom of the rapid, and
reunited with your board, we’ll laugh at what just happened and swap stories before doing it all over again.
You will cover a total of 8km enjoying this beautiful first free flowing stretch of the Nile.

“Many people can say they have kayaked down the Nile but only a few can say they have SUPed the Nile. I recommend this to people who have some time in Jinja and want to do something a little different.
Doing the grade 1 and 2 sections on a stand up paddle is hard but a lot of fun. You need to be able to put your pride and ego aside because you are going to take some pretty fun falls off the board.
All in all it was a great way to spend the day on the water. Our guides, Sim and Shaggy made us three girls have a blast. I am pretty sure they laughed at us the whole time, but we were laughing at ourselves the whole time too.
Well worth the time and money.”
