NRE’s Kampala to Jinja shuttle bus

Thanks to our partnership with Nile River Explorers, if you’re kayaking with us you get free access to the Kampala – Jinja shuttle. Bookings are essential so please let us know if you would like to take advantage of this service.

The shuttle departs promptly from the following locations in Kampala:

The shuttle bus terminates at the Nile River Explorers Backpackers in Jinja. It arrives in time for all of our kayaking options, but is dependent on NRE running a rafting trip that day; however it’s rare that the shuttle does not run.

Fly with Kayak the Nile and Brussels airlines

If you are flying into Uganda we can help organise your flights and get you from Uganda’s main airport Entebbe (EBB), to the river.

Over the years we have collected a set of taxi drivers that we trust and that if needed can carry boats from the airport (the largest car can carry 4 people, boats and luggage comfortably). We prefer to use these drivers as they are not only safe and reliable but are much cheaper than the airport taxis and know exactly where Bujagali and The Hairy Lemon Island. For peace of mind we will notify you when the taxi booking is confirmed and make sure that you have our Uganda phone number in case you are delayed or have any issues.

Please be aware that we do have to charge a small $5 USD fee for taxi bookings. If you want to take advantage of the flights deal with Brussels and / or arrange for one of our trusted drivers to get you from the airport. You can use our flight contact form, and to book an airport pick up either drop us an email or use our standard contact form on our website.
